This secluded complex is 22 miles from downtown and the last development before reaching Fort Morgan. It also sets back from the beach about 300 yards, but has private access. The Indies, built in 2005, is made up of one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units that range in size from 800 square feet to 1,600 square feet. Each has the same number of bathrooms as bedrooms, although some three-bedroom units have two bathrooms. Cozy kitchens have granite countertops and all units have high ceilings. An open floor plan leads to a balcony with great views of the Gulf of Mexico as well as points west. Units also have floor-to-ceiling windows. The Indies is served by elevators and a roof-top terrace offers panoramic views of the area.

A modest pool is on the south side of the property as is a children’s pool and hot tub. Other amenities include a sizable sun deck, fitness room and a basketball court is nearby. A walkway leads to a private beach and there is golf cart service to the sugar sands during the peak season. The Indies is part of this particular Sunset Properties development that includes another condominium complex and single-family homes. Across the street to the north is Gulf Shores Marina and a handful of tour companies and restaurants. To the east of The Indies is single-family vacation homes and the west is its sister condominium complex, The Dunes.
