This condominium complex is a throwback to a time before the region’s first condominium towers were built. Built in 1980, Sea Oats is a set of low-density, 102 two-bedroom and three-bedroom units spread over a 10-building complex. Two sets of five, raised two-story buildings are arranged to create a landscaped courtyard with a pool. Two-bedroom units are about 1,000 square feet and three-bedroom units are about 1,500 square feet. Each unit has a pair of bathrooms. Comfortably-sized kitchens are fully stocked and may or may not have granite countertops depending on renovation projects. Private balconies may look out onto Little Lagoon depending on the orientation of the building. Some units facing the Gulf of Mexico, located across a two lane street, have balconies with limited views looking out onto the sugar-sand beaches.

Two outdoor pools are available as well as two hot tubs in the courtyards. In addition, there are two nicely-sized sun deck areas. Seven acres of land at Sea Oats are landscaped and a number of boat slips are available on the two piers extending into Little Lagoon. A pair of gazebos on the pier provide excellent spots for fishing and there’s also a boat launch. Other amenities include a barbecue area and a private boardwalk to the beach across the street, which is not too crowded due to the lack of high-density condo towers. Covered and uncovered parking is available and there is a two-car maximum per unit. Sea Oats is a little less than 3.5 miles from the intersection of Highway 59. To the east is the Gulf Shores Surf and Racquetball Club and to the west is the 19-story Bel Sole condominiums.
