This modest complex is surrounded by condos built a decade earlier with older designs. Because of that, Tropic Isles avoids some of the pitfalls of its neighbors, such as its structural direction. All condos at this complex face the Gulf of Mexico while the north-south building designs on either side mean only a handful of those condos face the sugar-sand beaches. Built in 1999, the eight-floor building is made up of 40 one-bedroom and two-bedroom units ranging in size from 700 square feet to 1,000 square feet. One-bedroom units have 1.5 bathrooms and two-bedroom units have two. Bathrooms off the master bedroom may have a jetted tub. Adequate kitchens, which are part of an open floor plan, may or may not have granite countertops depending on renovation efforts. All units have a private balcony accessed from the living room that looks onto the Gulf of Mexico. Tropic Isles is served by an elevator.

The condominium complex has an outdoor pool, sizable sundeck, outdoor shower, walkway to the beach and barbecue area. One car is permitted for a single-bedroom unit in the uncovered, lightly manicured lot while two-bedroom units are permitted to have two cars. Tropic Isles is in a denser part of the town about a half mile west from the intersection with Highway 59, also known as the “T.” To the east of the condominium complex is Southern Sands condos and to the west is Southern Shores Beach Resort.
