This is the first condominium west of Gulf State Park’s beach access, which allows for extraordinary sunset views. The building, constructed in 1997, is in the shape of a fork and includes lines of condos running north and south. The best views are on the western and eastern sides. The 10-story complex is made up of 99 two-bedroom and three-bedroom units ranging in size from 1,200 square feet to 1,400 square feet. Each has a pair of bathrooms. Units have an open floor plan with a sizable kitchen that was not originally designed with granite countertops. Sliding glass doors lead to a private balcony that may include unobstructed water views. The balcony may also be accessed from the master bedroom. The complex is served by a pair of elevators.

The Palms has a pair of outdoor pools located in the courtyards created by the forked property. Other amenities include a tennis court, sauna, barbecue area, boardwalk to the beach, and exercise room. There is a two-car maximum in the lightly landscaped parking lot and no RVs or boat trailers are allowed. The Palms is across the street from the new Ron Jon Surf Shop and just east of the Gulf State Park beach access. To the east, and two properties from The Palms, is Sugar Beach Condominiums and to the west are single-family homes.
