Romar Lakes

A condominium complex across the street from the beach has one major advantage – price. This modest complex, built in 1998, has affordable two-bedroom and three-bedroom units ranging in size from about 1,000 square feet to a little more than 1,300 square feet. The five detached buildings have three floors each and together house 75 units. Each unit has a pair of bathrooms and kitchens are relatively small. Granite countertops were not installed when the complex was first constructed. An open floor plan includes the kitchen and living room, which leads to a private balcony that for most of buildings face Romar Lakes and the open land beyond. Views of the beach are limited but seen from the bedroom windows facing front of most buildings. One of the buildings on the south side has balconies that face the street, also offering limited views of the Gulf of Mexico. Washer/dryer hookups are available as is wifi.

An outdoor pool with sun deck is in the parking area of the complex. A walkway over one of the Romar Lakes leads to a gazebo and provides a spot to cast a line. A barbecue area is also available. Access to the beach is across the street and there is a two-car maximum in the uncovered lot. The restaurants and shopping options on Highway 59 are a little more than 4.5 miles from the condominium complex. In front of Romar Lakes condo complex is Wintzell’s Oyster House. Open land is on the east and west sides of the complex.
