Island Sunrise is one of the earliest structures built in the popular Gulf Shores area. Constructed in 1982, the complex offers some of the most affordable, beach-front units in the region. Both one-bedroom and two bedroom units are available in the six-story building, which includes 60 condos. One-bedroom units are 662 square feet while two-bedroom units may be either 832 square feet or 950 square feet. One-bedroom units have a single bathroom and two-bedroom units have a pair of bathrooms. Private balconies may or may not face the Gulf’s sugar sand and kitchens have all the expected amenities. The complex is served by one elevator and each floor has a garbage chute. All the units have a washer/dryer hook-up.
A smallish outdoor pool is on parking lot side of the complex and there is an area with oversized barbecue grills. Picnic areas are located both in the shade and out in the open. Three porch-sized swings are located under a covered area for out-of-the-sun relaxation and the beach is a very short walk from this beach-front complex. There is a spacious lobby with a table and chairs. A two-car maximum is available in the landscaped, on-site lot and there is a $22 fee. Free, building-wide wifi is available and Island Sunrise is monitored with surveillance cameras.
The condominium complex is located about a half mile from State Highway 59 and is in walking distance to many restaurant and shopping options. The popular Sea-n-Suds is located two doors to the east on the beach. Island Shores Condominium is directly next door to the west and the Lighthouse Condominium is to the east.
