If you are looking for a beach experience without the heights of a tower condominium, Harbor House could be the right choice. Built in 1982, three of the five buildings in the complex have two stories of condos offering modest units close to the sugar sand shores of the Gulf of Mexico. The fourth and fifth buildings directly face the shore and each building has three stories. The 31 units, over the five-building complex, are made up of two-bedroom units that are about 700 square feet in size. Each has a single bathroom that isn’t attached to the master bedroom. Units have their own washer/dryer hook-ups and all the amenities you’ve come to expect from a modern kitchen.
Each unit has private balconies, though pristine Gulf views are best seen from the two ocean-front buildings. Views from the three buildings closer to the street have limited views of the ocean and face the neighboring high-rise condominium complexes. Harbor House does not come equipped with an elevator. There is a smallish, unheated beach-side pool between the ocean-front buildings and parking, some of which is covered, is available for two cars. Harbor House has Gulf Shores municipal services and it is centrally-located, about a mile from the intersection of state highway 59. Visitors to the gulf coast can find numerous restaurant and shopping options at this crossroads. Harbor House is next to the Crystal Shores condominium tower, located to the west, and the Oceania condominium complex, to the east.
